1. Eat Well - Regardless of how much exercise you do, you still need to follow a healthy eating plan in order to reduce body fat and keep it off. Avoid being famished after exercise by eating a light meal or healthy snack an hour or two before you start.

2. Eating Out Can Add Up - Dining out can derail your weight loss - even if you choose carefully by avoiding fast food and skipping dessert. The way to get around this is - control the portions. You will consume less calories if you order two appetizers like sushi and a salad, instead of an appetizer and an entree.

3. Eat to Live - Don't be too strict on your diet on what you can and can't eat. Otherwise, you may not find this manageable, and more likely you'll seek comfort in forbidden foods when under stress. When trying to reduce body fat, don't deprive yourself of the foods you enjoy. Try to get 10 percent of your calories from your favorite foods on a weekly basis in controlled portions.

4. Make Smart Swaps in Your Diet - Change your eating patterns and replace you old favorite foods by picking foods that have similar flavors or textures - and are healthy but satisfying. Studies show that it increases the risk of coronary heart disease and diabetes, raises the bad cholesterol levels whilst lowering the good cholesterol, and increases your body fat.
