4. Fruit vs. fruit drinks: Fruit juices are processed and, thus, pack more calories than the fruit - much more. So instead of going for the juice, eat the fruit. Not only does it have fewer calories, it also fills you up more so you eat less.

5. Take a whiff: When you're hungry and feel like eating anything that you can grab, try sniffing a banana, an apple, or a peppermint to control the urge. Sniffing the food tricks the brain into thinking you're actually eating it. And when you do eat, you won't be as ravenous as when you were first aware of your empty stomach.

6. Walk before dinner: It?s a well known fact that walking burns calories. But here?s more good news to make you look forward to that walk: it reduces your appetite. Specifically, take a 20-minute walk before dinner because it will increase the feeling of fullness as effectively as a light meal does.

7. Power of mantras: Mantras have a way of empowering us that can make us fulfill our foretelling for ourselves. Repeat positive phrases such as "I will be sexier", or "I'll do that exercise", or "I can give up dessert" to yourself all day and soon you'll be realizing them.
