A Cleanse For The Colon For A Toxin Free Body

Not a pretty thought, but as the Vegetarian Times states, autopsies often reveal that colons are blocked by up to 80% of waste material. Sounds gruesome, and not really a polite topic you want to discuss over food, however it is no wonder that more people are seeking an effective cleanse for the colon to improve their health, or to prevent future health problems.

As one of the biggest muscles in the body, the colon should be exercised and maintained. If your colon is not functioning well, it eventually weakens. The inactivity of your colon, or restrictions in its movement may hold back the elimination of waste materials. This may cause disease or toxins to seep into your body.

One way to colon cleanse naturally is to eat a healthy diet, which is rich in roughage and have a lifestyle which naturally encourages healthy colon functions. Natural colon cleansing is a practical way of keeping your colon free from toxins. Aside from requiring usually only small changes in dietary habits, it will be free from side effects and the side benefits are that a better diet improves the health of the whole body.

Some of the factors in natural colon cleaning are having a balanced diet, drinking lots of water (at least eight glasses of water daily), juices of fruits and vegetables, and most important of all eating foods that are rich in fiber.

Other alternative methods to clean the colon include following a specific colon-cleansing program. These programs generally involve taking certain supplements and preparations help break up the hardened waste attached to the colon walls with the use of herbal or oxygen preparations.

Enemas, colonics and fasting are some other methods that have proven effective. Colonics involves trained professionals who flush water into the colon to wash out waste and compacted feces. Fasting is also an effective way since excellent detoxification is attained if your body has no intake of toxin laden foods for a couple of days.
