Allergy Eyes - What Are They?

By: Dorothy Medlum. Do your eyes get itchy, red, and irritated? Itchy, red, eyes can be the result of many different causes. Perhaps you were in a smoke infested environment that caused your eyes to itch. Maybe you have been sitting at a computer for several hours all day and strained your eyes by not blinking them as often as you normally do. The most common reason is because you have allergy eyes.

Allergy eyes are most often a negative reaction to a substance in your immediate environment. For example, allergy eyes can be caused by pollen, weeds, and grass exposure. This is most prevalent in the fall and the spring. If you step outside, you can be overwhelmed with allergens and the effects of pollen.

Pets may also be another form of allergen creating your allergy eyes. Dander and hair from both cats and dogs can be released into the environment. When you breathe in the two, they can irritate the eyes and cause allergy eyes.

There are ways to treat your eyes and keep your pet at home with you.

What can be done for Allergy Eyes?

Visine Advance Allergy combines an antihistamine and a decongestant to effectively relieve itching, tearing, and redness of the eye caused by allergies (pollen, trees, grass, ragweed, dust, pets, and mold). Trust Visine Advance Allergy to soothe and comfort your irritated eyes.

This product provides fast relief for itch, watery eyes while reducing the redness. It contains an antihistamine as well as a decongestant to reduce the swelling of blood vessels.

To use these drops, adults and children 6 years and over: Place 1 to 2 drops in the affected eyes up to four times a day. Some users may experience a brief tingling sensation.

If you experience pain, changed vision, continued redness, or irritated eyes, or if your condition worsens consult a doctor. If this lasts more that 72 hours, consult a doctor then as well. Do not use this medication if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or glaucoma. Using too much of this medicine may cause the redness to persist. Your itchy, red, irritated allergy eyes should become better after using a good product, such as Visine Advance Allergy, allergy medications, and a cleaner environment. Using these together will achieve the best results.
