By: Jeff Dodd If you have been complaining about the irregular sleeping patterns of your baby or when your baby is difficult to bring to sleep, the following might help you do something about your baby’s sleeping problems:

Make a predictable schedule that your child can follow. You can do this by setting a time for each of his major activities like playing, eating, and sleeping. You may, for example, set 7 am as your child’s eating time and 8 am to 9 am as his playing time. Bring him to his bed at 10 am for a nap regardless if he is sleepy or not. When you do this regularly, you will help regulate the sleeping time and sleeping pattern of your child.

Have some pre-sleeping activities. One of the best means to persuade your baby that it is time for him to go to sleep is not by telling him but by prompting him it is sleeping time by having pre-sleeping activities. One of the most popular and reportedly most effective pre-sleeping activities is reading a book to your child. Some sing songs to their baby while other give their child a bath.

Make your baby comfortable. Your baby may have difficulty sleeping because he feels uncomfortable. You can do something about this by giving your child a warm bath to make him feel clean and relaxed. If you can’t, make sure that he has clean diapers and fresh clothes. These can help eliminate any sticky feeling a child may feel because of dirty clothers and diapers.
