Since the severe depression of bipolar disorder patients come from the daily dose of stress, a change of lifestyle - to a less stressful environment reduces extreme mood swings. A patient must be aware and be able to identify the various sources of stress and do the right steps to avoid them.

In most cases, doctors recommend to their patients a change of lifestyle. Stress is the number one trigger for the sudden and extreme mood swings, so a change in lifestyle can greatly help reduce the amount of stress that the patient is exposed to.
