Build an Online Business by Copying the Success of Others

By: Larry Didrikson Have you recently decided to start an online business? Or have you been trying for months to get your online business venture into profitable territory? Maybe what you need to do is "steal" a successful online business system. If you think that sounds ridiculous, please read on.

Copying Success is an Age-Old Philosophy

Writers do it all the time. So do artists. The same is true for just about anything requiring a little creativity. So, why then, would you think that creating an online business would be any different? An author might draw her inspiration from reading the creative works of masters of the craft. An artist may pull his ideas directly from the landscape, but he might need to make a visit to the local art gallery. Obviously, plagiarism and tracing are unethical and illegal. But borrowing elements from the successful work of others is not only acceptable, it is actually expected.

Today, things haven't changed all that much. We're essentially just educated cavemen. And the same principles still apply. Don't reinvent the wheel. Take the other guy's idea, and build on it. Obviously, actually stealing websites is illegal, or at best unethical. But there are ways to legally "steal" the designs and models of successful online business professionals. With the right instruction, you can follow this path all the way to the bank.

Look for Relevant Business Models

One of the best indicators of the success of a business model is the number of businesses that have adopted it. Many times, individuals may think the opposite is true, but that is not the case. If a system is successful, it will stand the test of time. In fact, many successful online businesses now operate much like direct marketing organizations of the past. Building your online business using the time-tested methods of others only makes good business sense.

Boldly Go Forth

Building a successful online business is simpler when you decide to build on the experience of those that have gone before you. But it doesn't really matter what plan you choose if you never take action. The best plans in the world will be dismal failures if they're never implemented. Theory will only take you so far. Taking action and gaining the experience by actually "being in the trenches" will be what moves your online business forward. Borrowing from the ideas of others is great. But, in the end, it will always be up to you to see it through.
