Can Alternative Health Care Help?

Costs have gone through the roof and most of the people are not covered with insurance, making a trip to doctors expensive.

Due not to poor education, but probably a limited scope, the M.D. can not always help the patient resolve their health issue.

In the last thirty years or so, alternative health care has sought to fill in the gaps. Allopathic medicine is the purvue of the medical doctor, dealing with the strict science of disease conditions.

Some of the main treatments are pharmaceutical prescriptions, lab analysis and surgery

Alternative health care comprises diagnosis and treatment programs which analyze body systems as a whole. While the medical doctor treats the symptoms of the patient, the alternative practitioner will approach disease as a systemic condition.

The condition that the patient see the doctor may not be the actual problem.

For example, if you are prone to bronchitis, the allopathic practitioner may prescribe antiobiotics to cure the infectious condition and thus bring it under control.

However, the holistic practitioner may instead view the bronchitis as an underlying weakness of the immune system.

The naturopathic, or holistic practitioner, recognizes that the bronchitis must be treated and may dispense a number of herbs which are natural antibiotics, such as garlic or elecampane root, a specific for respiratory problems to eliminate the coughing and excessive accumulation of phlegm.

Other examples of alternative health approaches include quit-smoking treatments. While your regular M.D. may prescribe nicotine patches, they don't work for everyone actually.

An ancient Chinese alternative treatment is accupuncture. Many quit their smoking after undergoing such treatment.

Are you being bothered by migraine? This condition can be difficult.

Though there are over the counter drugs to treat this, it may not be effective and comes with side effects.

Alternative health practitioners offers many herbs therapy and they have no side effects.
