Candida Albicans and the RISK Involved

By: Linda Allen Even if around 24 kinds of Candida fungi have been localized as culprits in human yeast infections, most of the time (especially vaginal and oral yeast infections) the criminal is Candida albicans. This is a type of yeast acting opportunistically to bring on human yeast infections.

And yet these bacteria are imperative for the digestion and for the assimilation of fatty acids, amino acids, glucose and other micronutrients. Candida albicans, like bacteria and fungal microbes, reside in the intestines and also other human body parts. It is when Candida albicans evolves to a fungal form from the yeast form, that it can then pass through the damaged mucous tissues of the gut to arrive in the bloodstream and bring on yeast infections, either locally or systemically.

Any one of the Candida infection subtypes can bring severe discomfort and significantly degrade a person's quality of life. In a local attack, Candida infections can be responsible for pain, itches and sensations of burning, also causing abnormal discharges and rashes in the parts of the body under attack (skin, mouth, genitals and so forth). By comparison, symptoms of systemic attacks include allergies, digestive ailments, sinusitis, a fixation on sugar, soreness in the muscles and chronic tiredness.

The unchecked overgrowth of Candida Albicans is caused by the lack of balance of a number of environment and lifestyle factors that also upset the inner equilibrium of the body and vice versa. This inner balance, required to correctly limit fungal organisms to the right levels, can be disturbed because of:

1. Consuming too much alcohol, refined carbohydrates, soy products or yeasty food, etc. and poor dietary habits in general. These foodstuffs all encourage Candida albicans, and can bring on the intestinal condition that leads to Candida overgrowth.

2. Contraceptive pills, steroids, antibiotics and other drugs that increase the multiplication of Candida albicans in the gut by destroying beneficial intestinal bacteria.

3. Stress and poor sleep hygiene, which also degrade the immune system in general.

4. Mild or local yeast infections that are then ignored.

5. Imbalance in hormones, excess toxins in the body.

The holistic approach acts on the Candida albicans overpopulation by targeting the hidden factors concerned, like the fragility of the immune system, hormonal imbalance, excess of toxins and reduction in protective bacteria. For the prevention and cure of Candida albicans overgrowth, these are the priorities to be treated first. A pro-active routine of defined supplements of herbs and vitamins, together with a comprehensive program of Candida control protocols and dietary principles, lets you eradicate internal factors contributing to Candida infection, to stop and prevent recurrence of Candida infection. Only the holistic approach can provide an effective solution to permanently eliminate and prevent yeast infections.
