Caralluma Fimbriata: The Next Hoodia?

By: Barry Crewse Caralluma Fimbriata. For most people, the question is...what is it? Just another Johnny Come Lately fad diet supplement? Well, maybe yes and maybe no. Let's take a little journey and find out exactly what Caralluma is and what it is not.

Caralluma belongs to the cactus family and is known as a succulent. It grows wild in much of India and as far north as Afghanistan and the surrounding areas.

The locals in most regions of India have eaten Caralluma as a vegetable for hundreds of years if not longer. The green leafy parts of the plant are most usually and eaten with a little salt. It can be eaten cooked or raw. Among other things, it is also made into a variety of pickles and different chutney's.

Eons ago, the local people who ate this vegetable found that it seemed to contain properties that suppressed their appetite, quenched their thirty and gave their energy a boost as well. It became very popular as a portable "hunting food". In the more arid regions of India it also became known locally as a "famine food" which sustained the population during times of low food production.

Of course, modern science has now caught up with all the benefits of Caralluma Fimbriata and the new arrival of this succulent cactus is just now becoming very popular for not only being able to suppress your appetite and boost your endurance but it also appears to lower blood sugar.

Research has now discovered that extracts of Caralluma Fimbriata appear to act on certain hunger centers in the brain itself thereby causing a reduction in the feelings of hunger. Unlike most appetite suppressants on the market today, Caralluma does not seem to have any type of affect on the neurotransmitters within these hunger centers.

Recent studies also seem to indicate that one important extract, pregnane glycoside, appears to be effective in not only obesity, weight and diet disorders but also in the reductions of fat, BMI, reduction in hip and waste circumferences, blood glucose and blood pressure.

Benefits do not appear to stop there as an increase in lean body mass, capillary health improvement, memory function and hearing improvement and the lowering of joint inflammation are also some noted as major benefits. Further studies are also concluding that there appears to be enhancement in HDL/LDL ratio's in the blo

Surprisingly, Caralluma Fimbriata is a completely natural appetite suppressant and does not contain any artificial ingredient, chemicals or any type of preservative which more recent studies indicate can possibly interfere in the body's natural dieting process.

There have never been any recorded instance of adverse reaction or toxicity in the extensive studies undertaken to determine it's safety in human consumption. The fact that it has been eaten for centuries should be proof for certain of it's benefits and long term positive effects on the human body.

Be prepared for a media avalanche as Caralluma Fimbriata becomes poised to overtake the current appetite suppression market. I fully expect this to become even more popular that the current Hoodia craze with this product being even less expensive while being far more effective.
