Causes of Hair Loss - Could This Be You?

Hair loss makes a great effect on the social life of an individual and is rising as the matter that needs to be considered seriously. It is most common that women are more affiliated with the hair issues, but hair loss seems to occur in both women and men almost at the same rate. Alopecia is considered as the general term for the 'hair loss' and the various sub-types of alopecia are recorded based on the primary cause behind the kind of that particular hair loss.

Before going much deeper into the concept, it is very important to obtain a preliminary idea on hair loss. Many diseases such as Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), Addison's disease, Rosselli-Gulienetti syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus, vitiligo and erythroderma will affect the hair growth and result hair loss. The hormone imbalance also causes hair loss and endocrine disorders such as thyroid disorder and pituitary disorder will badly affect the hair. Also, the ladies will experience hair loss along with the situations of hormone fluctuations in the body such as child birth and menopause. The other diseases such as iron deficiency anemia, autoimmune diseases, SLE, and AIDS, also may result the hair loss. The hair loss due to any of such internal and external stress factors are generalized and called as telogen effluvium.

Some remarkable conditions of the loss of hair are recorded as tricho tillomania and traction alopecia. These are the conditions in which the scalp loses its strength resulting in the hair loss due to the voluntary actions of the person. Adding to the list, strain and chemical treatments to the hair also pose as the possible reasons resulting in the hair loss. Changes in the modern day diet also stand as a possible reason for the loss of hair in an individual. Hair has to be supplied with good amounts of proteins and minerals like iron, zinc and selenium for it to grow stronger and healthier. Additional diet supplements can't produce the food and minerals that are high in protein content for the hair growth and deficiency in these aspects can affect the hair growth strongly ultimately leading to the loss of hair. At the same time, excess supply of nutrients like Vitamin A also affects the growth of hair.

Working in strenuous conditions like in intense heat, sunlight and dust also lead to the loss of hair. Busy schedule in the life can contribute to the hair loss in an individual as he cannot spend much time for maintaining the hair properly.

There are certain factors of life leading to the hair loss in an individual like the strenuous conditions in which he works such as the intense sunlight and the dust. The busy life schedule of an individual also can add up to the causes of hair loss. However, loss of hair can occur due to several reasons. But to acquire a disease-free condition, proper maintenance of the hair and timely healthy diet alone can prevent much of the above cases. But it is always good to have the advice of an expert to know whether dihydrotestosterone has accounted for taking the initiative for hair loss.
