Coping with Slow Hair Growth

By: Jamie Bollig. We have no choice when it comes to hair loss, regardless of whether or not it is caused by heredity, stress, or any other medical condition. The fact of the matter is that hair loss can be an embarrassing condition, especially to those who experience an early onset.

The earlier you endeavor to treat your hair loss, the more effective your attempts will be. Your natural hair growth is the direct result of a healthy diet and a well-cared for scalp. The condition of your hair will ebb and flow with the condition of your overall health.

Damaged hair follicles are very common and may be one of the leading contributors to hair loss. It's easier to damage your hair follicles than you thing. Harsh chemical shampoos, over-exposure to the sun, harsh blow-drying and brushing, and even hat wearing may damage the follicles contained within the scalp. These factors contribute to female hair loss as well as to hair loss in men.

Chemicals found in hair care products tend to be damaging and even overexposure to sunlight eventually wears down the hair follicles. Shampooing your hair should be done when your hair is dirty and oily, not necessarily on a daily basis. Too much hair washing can cause your hair loss to proceed at a faster rate.

While it's always better to prevent hair loss, there are plenty of hair growth products on the market that are useful in re-growing lost hair. While some doctors may opt for oral testosterone medications to treat your condition, others may choose to combine treatments while focusing on hair grown vitamins and shampoos.

Laser hair growth treatments offer another alternative. Although they are newer forms of treatment, there are already dozens of laser growth treatment options to choose from. They vary in intensity and can be done in both medical settings or in the privacy of your own home.

You should not start any hair growth treatment before consulting with a medical practitioner. Some hair growth products have the potential to cause side effects which may be very serious.

Topical, oral, and laser treatments have proved themselves to be more economical and effective than old methods of hair transplantation. They are excellent alternatives and should be taken seriously when formulating your hair re-growth plan. Good luck!
