Yet another common concern with decorating a home office comes from simple lack of space. Allot of us have a home office set up as an attempt to carve out spare space. Home offices can be found crammed into small rooms or even old closets where space is hard to come by. Because we are redecorating and not remodeling, you will need to work with what space you have. No matter what your home office setup might be, you can spruce it up to make it a great room to unwind and get some work done.

You may wish to pre plan your ideas for decorating your home office in advance. Once you have a feel of the look and style you want to create, jot down some notes on furniture placement, colors and other ideas.

A home office doesn't need a bunch of decorative accessories. Aside from paint, stenciling can be nice accents on the walls. Wallpaper will also provide a nice effect. You can choose to use artwork for the walls to enhance them too.

What furniture for your home office will depend on what you need. Typically, a home office will have a desk and place for computer work. You may also require filing cabinets or other special furniture depending on what type of work you do. Just remember not to scrimp on the organizational tools like filing cabinets and desk space. You will want to see to it that you have enough room to organize your office with enough space for all of your things.

If you are on a budget, you can typically get a good deal on a used desk by looking in your local classifieds. Desks can be very expensive to purchase at the store, but go for cheap when you buy them from someone who is having a moving sale. Another cost saver would be to use plastic milk crates as file holders. Milk crates are sturdy, easy to find and the perfect size for most office files.

Once you have your office functional, you can start to think about adding some personal touches to inspire you while you work. Family pictures, a favorite plant or anything else that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed would be a perfect element in your home office. Do you work better with tunes?
