Dehydration Symptoms: The 2 Yellow Alerts

By: Cindy Soto Dehydration symptoms are many, but these two are almost normal to many of us.
You don't want to do that and here's why.
1 -- The first yellow alert really is yellow. I'm talking about the darker yellow you see in the urine when you're becoming dehydrated.
Is this you?
Or perhaps it's yellow more often than not.
2 -- Feeling thirsty is a symptom of dehydration. Drink regularly before you feel thirsty.
If you wait, you're already down in your need for water. Next, you'll feel tired unless you address this.
If you want more energy and vitality, start with your drinking habits.
Each day, do you get enough water?
Do you spread it out so you are continuously adding water?
A little tougher question maybe - is it water you're drinking? Sugary drinks, coffee or even drinks with added salt aren't going to replenish you.
Many of the sports drinks do have electrolytes, but are still not good for you.
You need water, a lot of water actually.
Whatever water you like, but you don't want the toxins and chlorine you'll find in tap water.
The way you tell if you are drinking enough is that your urine is light yellow or clear.
How much water is recommended?
It has been well established that you should drink half your body weight in ounces.
In other words, a person that weighs 150 pounds would need to drink 75 ounces of water each day.
What's the reason to even it out throughout the day?
If you're working out or it's hot, count on drinking even more. Your body needs to match the water used with more coming in.
Drink before and during a workout or athletic activity to prevent dehydration.
The second reason is the body works hard to maintain a delicate balance.
Flooding it with water is not better than becoming dehydrated. You will flood the cells and make your body work much harder.
Drinking with your meals also makes your body work a lot harder than it needs to.
Too much energy is used that is needed for other things.
What do I mean?
The liquid in the meal dilutes the gastric juices that digest the food.
Digestion is the most energy consuming process you do every day as it is. You don't want to make it harder.
When you drink throughout the day, it's not difficult to eat food without the drinks.
