Don't Be Afraid to Use a Golf Training Club

And when a new golfer watches the pros play, often the thing that is most desirable in their style of play is that very powerful swing and the fast drive that they can use to make that golf ball disappear into the air. So the goal of making your own swing reach a level that you can drive with not only precision but that much power is often at the top of a new golfers list. And having a great golf swing high on your priority list is appropriate because one of the pieces of equipment that is perfect for the new golfer is the golf training club which is focused entirely on a powerful swing.

The internet is full of sites that will sell you great golf training clubs of all kinds and the different models and goals of different ones is really amazing to browse. But to get that powerful swing we want, a weighted club is perfect because it can be used to exactly duplicate your swing during play but to do so while adding weight for resistance which creates stress on those muscles. This is an ideal work out because you are not only improving your swing but focusing on the muscles that are used for a fast drive but also introducing a weight training aspect to your trial swings with the training club.

The two outcomes of using a golf training club will be an initial soreness as those muscles needed to drive the ball long distances get a workout. But then you will see a noticeable improvement in your ability to get that ball much further down the green on the drive which will improve your golf scores. But you will also notice a lot more muscle flexibility both in the backswing and as you follow through the swing process. This flexibility combined with the additional strength you will put into your swing will change your game for the better.

Even though the golf training club does build muscle, it's important to note that it does not represent a full "workout" in every respect. One of the great things about golf is that you do get good exercise along with a lot of fun. But the need to round out your exercise program is important so that you can focus on specific health needs and to build your ability to play with energy for all 18 holes.

It's important to see the step of beginning to use a golf training club as part of a total physical workout. And "getting in shape for golf" is one way to very quickly improve your game. But since the club itself is not a comprehensive work out plan, you should work with your health club trainer to add exercises for your legs, your lower back and cardio exercises as well to give you a total strength to support your game as well as good stamina.

One way you will use the golf training club is for warm up before the game. You can do this anywhere and just use your training club for a couple dozen test swings. This will limber you up to be ready to get out there and play the best game possible. It's a great way to be ready for "battle" because the training club gets the specific muscle groups you need during your game stretched and ready to exercise.

That said, there is still good reasons to use the training club with some good old fashioned common sense. One good habit is to finish your arm up swing phase of the game by executing a dozen or so swing with your regular clubs instead of the weighted training club. If you skip this step you may step out onto the course and your body will not be in balance to swing the lighter clubs which could result in mistakes on the early holes. Also use some of that common sense about not using the club when you feel your body is reaching fatigue. You don't want to play the game with exhausted and sore muscles because you warmed up too well.

Including the use of a golf training club in your orientation and training for the game is a great way to start your golf career. But you might not lay the training club aside when you are well into the game either because it could add a lot of value to your game long term. By using the training club as part of your physical fitness program, it will be you out there performing those amazing fast and powerful swings as a seasoned golfing enthusiast and wowing the newbies just like you were wowed when you fell in love with the game in the first place.
