Escape to Florida

By: stephenstewart It is 2007 on its nearly 6 years off to the awful events of the World Trade Centre ( which everyone now knows as a 911) and it looks as if tourism in the United States of America may well be developing stronger legs and getting back to where it was before.

The reason I say this is that in particular the state of Florida, officially known as the sunshine State has actually reported an increase on last years figures.
This is despite reports that the sunshine State was losing favour with visitors. Official tourism figures for 2006 show that the unparalleled natural beauty of the state as well as the clean and pristine beaches plus the world-class theme parks have helped to bring back visitors for more.

It would appear that the total number of tourists visiting Florida rose to 18 4.6 million people last year. This was an increase of over 1.2% on the previous year and yet to gain goes to prove that despite imminent reports of its demise, tourism in the states of Florida is alive and kicking.

One of the major influences and activists in this sustained growth in visit to a truism to the state of Florida is the fact that as far as British visitors are concerned the strength of the pound has made the possibility of being able to visit the United States of America such an attractive option. Whereas possibly in the past, British tourists may have thought twice about travelling across the Atlantic in the numbers that they have done, the sudden weakness in the dollar sterling exchange rate (or growing strength depending on which point to view you wish to take) has simply made it an opportunity not to be mixed.

And what opportunities exist as to Florida have. Quite frankly in the state of Florida you have almost everything, I say almost everything and by that I mean I don’t think there are too many skiing resorts in Florida but then I guess you can’t have everything.

That being said if we forget about the absence of ski resorts everything else can be found within the state of Florida. The stunning weather, charm, character and tradition of old time Florida make it a truly wonderful experience.

Perhaps apart from the sun, the other element to be found in large quantities in Florida is water. With water there are two associations, firstly you cannot move in the state of Florida for boats of all sizes ranging from tiny little dinghies to some of the world’s largest cruise liners. Aboard the latter you can cruise the Florida coastline and visit all of Florida’s port cities and aboard the former you can visit that of a major tourist attraction associated with water in Florida namely the everglades.

Florida Everglades is that largest sub tropical wilderness in the United States of America. Visitors can see rare and endangered species like the American Alligator, West Indian manatee and Florida panther. No visit to Florida would be complete without a visit.
