Executive Search Coaches Are Used By 70% Of New Executives

By: George Purdy If you're in the process of undergoing a career change, you know that looking for a new job is not always as simple as mailing out resumes or perusing the want ads. Executive level jobs aren't always published, and the competition can be intense. Without the right network contacts, and not being in the right place at just the right time, you could be out of luck.

Executive search coaches specialize in helping executives find jobs; it's their job to locate career opportunities, get you up to speed, put you in contact with the correct people, fine tune your resume and help you prepare for your interviews.

In a recent survey, 84 percent of new executives either used executive search coaches or wished they had. Executive coaches were able to help new executives get a better career start than others were able to get by trying to find positions on their own. That's why 70% of these executives surveyed attributed their current positions to an executive search coach.

Executive coaching is a wonderful tool for the executive who is stuck in one particular career field for many years and now is choosing to move on to higher positions elsewhere. This may come about after many years of feeling unhappy with the current job or just with the need for a change of scenery. However one comes to it, executive coaching will help you find your niche.

Executives who are already doing well in their career will also benefit from executive search coaches. Using them will make you more competitive, compared to other candidates. Under their guidance, you will learn how to negotiate for stellar salary, and you'll be able to win the best benefit packages. You'll also be able to hand-pick the corporation, location and employment terms you like. Your job coach can even help you with your research, helping you figure out which corporate philosophy and atmosphere work best for you, at which corporation.

Career coaching is beneficial no matter where you are in your field. If you're just starting your career, returning to work after a period of absence, or are already well on your way up the corporate ladder, a job coach has invaluable experiences to offer you. They can research alternate job positions, help you select the premium ones, spread your resume around, and assist you with interviewing and negotiating skills.

If you're an executive and want to change to a new career, it can be a very difficult process. You can't just simply look at job ads or send out lots of blind resumes. Instead, you must have the right connections to the right people. Executive search coaches specialize in helping executives find jobs. Executive coaches were used to get their current positions by almost 70 percent of recently surveyed new executives. For the executive who was stuck in one particular career field for many years and now is choosing to move on to higher positions elsewhere, executive coaching is a wonderful tool.
