Female Hair Loss due to Vitamin Deficiency

By: C. Gray There are several types of vitamins that are key to helping hair grow healthy and to prevent hair loss. If you are facing a nutritional deficiency that is causing you to suffer from hair loss, these vitamins are the most important ones to get back into your diet. The intake would also lessen the possibility of hair loss. These vitamins are vitamin A, E and B and they are all significant in keeping hair healthy.

Vitamin A keeps the hair moist by helping secrete sebum in the scalp. This is a requirement for healthy hair growth as the sebum keeps the hair away from dryness. This dryness happens to be the first step towards female hair loss, so for healthy hair, there must be a sufficient amount of vitamin A, which is also an anti oxidant.

If the hair loss strikes after a change of medication, then it is easy to figure out that the hair loss is due to a side effect of the medication. But many times there are underlying reasons for hair loss that go undetected. One such hair loss is a deficiency related hair loss. Malnutrition or deficiency of nutrients and vitamins can easily cause hair loss. In fact, hair loss may be one of the first tell-tale signs that there is a nutrition problem.

There are four different types of vitamin B which also cast adverse effects on the hairs condition if there is not enough intake to help function properly. Biotin is a complex B vitamin that curbs hair loss and contributes highly in keeping hairs firmly attached to the scalp. This vitamin is found mostly in milk and egg yolks. Para Amino Benzoic Acid is another B complex vitamin that is just as important to hair nourishment as are vitamins B6 and Inositol.

Vitamins A, E and B are the most significant in keeping hair healthy and growing. Vitamin A keeps the hair moist by helping the sebum secrete moisture in the scalp. This is a requirement for healthy hair growth as the sebum keeps the hair away from dryness or brittleness that can cause breakage or damage.

Alleviating this particular dryness happens to be the first step towards hair loss. So, for healthy hair, there must be a sufficient amount of vitamin A, which is also an anti oxidant. Vitamin E helps to increase the level of blood circulation towards the scalp and also helps the follicle cells get enough oxygen. Other vitamins that you need for healthy hair are vitamins K, zinc and magnesium, which will help the body build healthy, strong hair.
