Trolley ride tour, large fun ¡®gift¡¯ store, good inexpensive food place on premises.
It can be hot in the summer although it¡¯s cooler on covered trolley. There¡¯s also a beautiful indoor area with orchids, and they allow ¡°picnicking.¡±

¡ñ Old Cutler Road leads to Coconut Grove. Drive this after a Fairchild Garden Visit.
When in Coconut Grove, eat at ¡°Tu Tu Tango¡± in the front second floor of Cocowalk. Great atmosphere and prices ¨C they are filled with art from local artists and every day a different artist does his/her art in the restaurant.
(Cocowalk is going to be renovated, so I hope the place is still open at this time)

(It¡¯s just north of Fairchild Garden ¨C has a great restaurant called ¡°Red Fish.¡± There¡¯s an ocean fed swimming pond and beautiful trees and beach.

Famous hotel opened by George Merrick in 1926, now restored to it¡¯s original glory, with painted ceilings, an historic old tropical look, birdcages in lobby ¨C and fantastic huge swimming pool where ¡°Tarzan¡± trained. Dining and drinks there can be expensive ¨C it costs $45 just for Sunday Brunch.

It¡¯s worth driving the area around the hotel It¡¯s really beautiful and interesting, with ¡®old Florida¡¯ original houses along with newer architecture that has a lot of variety. (Not just ¡®fake Italian¡¯ or ¡®cookie-cutter¡¯ Deco Florida).

¡ñ¡°Miracle Mile¡± in Coral Gables
It¡¯s not far from the Biltmore Hotel ¨C fun to see as it¡¯s very historic and has a good variety of shopping and galleries.

¡ñ Merrick Park
High end new mall in Coral Gables just South of Miracle Mile. $$$ but you can still have a great time there as it¡¯s outdoors with gardens and statues and nice window shopping. Very unique to see as it¡¯s so beautiful.

¡ñ The Venetian Pool (also not far from Biltmore Hotel)

Famous historic place with spring-fed swimming pool, beautiful man-made coral rock ¡°caves¡± and paths and pretty buildings. They charge money to go in but you can see it from the outside. There are facilities for changing and showering. The water is very clean ¨C the area around it is residential and very pretty
