Great Ways to Improve your Blood Circulation

By: Roberto Beiro Heart problems and diabetes are just two conditions which come with problems in circulation. These dangerous and debilitating conditions are so prevalent, that if you don't have either, it's a sure bet you know someone who does. Every one of us would do well to improve blood circulation on an ongoing basis, as a preventative measure. If your health requires that you improve blood circulation, you'll also want to take a look at these simple steps to better circulation.

Something that is very important for better circulation is exercise. I can be hard to get into the routine of regular exercise, and I am sure this isn't the first time that you have heard this. But ask yourself this. Do you do it?

You've got to choose an activity that's doable, given your current health, and also enjoyable to you on a regular basis. For example, aerobics are in line with a heart or diabetes patient's limitations. If you like walking, set aside regular days and times for this activity. Regular exercise not only improves circulation, but also helps lower blood pressure.

There are many herbs available that can have a significant effect on you blood circulation. These include hawthorne berries, rosmary (to stabilize blood pressure, cayenne pepper (tones blood vessels) and Garlic (lowers colesterol). I recommend checking with your GP on what is suitable for you.

You can do much with your diet to indirectly improve blood circulation as a result of improving other body functions.

Be sure to get a good source of vitamin E as it is essential in improving circualtion. Patients with both diabetes and heart conditions can be deficient in this vitamin, but can remedy this by adding nuts, or avocados to their diet, as these are a great source. It is also an antioxidant, that can help maintain levels of other vitamins like A and D.

Blood cholesterol can be controlled by the B vitamins, namely cholin, inositol and vitamin B6. Not have enough of these vitamins can increase cholesterol. You must maintain these vitamins to improve blood circulation.

As early as the 1950s, a study of 600 heart patients demonstrated that diets adequate in these vitamins reduced the incidence of heart attacks, cholesterol levels and medication requirements, such as digitalis and nitroglycerin. Patients reported less shortness of breath and more energy.

It is possible to improve blood circulation very simply by improving your diet and adding exercise to you routine. Speak to you GP for further advice.
