How to Clean New Carpets

Your household might have some rooms which are frequently used, the carpets in such rooms need very regular vacuum cleaning and the rooms which aren't used that much might require a bi-weekly cleaning schedule.

It helps if you can divide your home with regards to the frequency of usage and plan a cleaning plan depending on that frequency. If your carpet already looks worn out “Hot water treatment” can help restore the carpet to it's hitherto new look. However, its best to use a manufacturer recommended solution and avoid over mixing. Too much of hot water extraction can leave residues which might be difficult or sometimes impossible to remove. While meting out the hot water treatment, extract using just water and avoid adding any more chemicals into the extraction tank. After the treatment you can use a rotary machine, small fans and the like, to dry.

Drying time can be ameliorated by using cotton pads or a low-speed rotary machine and it is also mandatory to avoid over wetting. Hot water treatment should be done regularly to high traffic areas in your household, say after ever 10 weeks or so. The infrequently visited rooms can have lesser number of treatments or longer waiting periods, which is deemed possible by you. Ideally, you should be allowing for at least 4 hours of drying time after the hot water extraction cycle.

Proper maintenance is the first step towards prettier looking and squeaky clean carpets in your home. Beautiful homes did not come about without hard work. Meticulousness, discipline and attention to detail would go a long way in ensuring that your home looks beautiful. Although mentioned earlier innumerable times, it is worth noting that vacuuming thoroughly and regularly is more than a necessity. Perhaps you should make it an obsession.
