Is It Possible To Watch TV And Be Healthy?

By: Christian Goodman When we think of the words "sedentary lifestyle," what comes to mind are images of obese people slumped on the sofa, watching TV and eating a whole bag of potato chips all day.

Nowadays, watching TV is getting a negative reputation. The hours spent watching TV, says health experts, can be better spent doing activities that can improve health and prolong life, such as exercising. Even business leaders consider the TV as one of the biggest income reducers in society today!

I agree that watching too much TV contributes to obesity all over the world today. This is so because the more TV a person watches, the more time is spent sitting down, hence the less time spent being active. The unspent calories from all that sitting accumulates until the person becomes obese, and becomes unhealthy.

But does watching TV really have to be such a bad thing?

Some individuals have turned their love of watching TV into something more productive. For instance, overweight individuals watch TV while walking on the treadmill or pedaling on their exercise bike. Others tune in to health and wellness channels to get ideas on how to live a healthier lifestyle at home.

I'll have to agree with these individuals on that assertion - watching TV can be healthy, but only if you come out of it healthier and happier.

And what better way to come out of a TV session healthier and happier by practicing one of my programs?
