By: Greg Smithers The web provides a lot of information about free online diets. Unfortunately, the quality of these diets can sometimes leave a lot to be desired. Some just don't work while a small number could actually cause you harm.

Perform a relevant search using your favourite search engine and select a few of the online diets to evaluate. The first thing is not to believe all of the claims made. You need to get independent corroboration.

This might be in a form of a review of the program. However, many web reviews today are written by affiliates hoping to make money from the program and are often quite biased. They will sing the praises of the program and make note of a few insignificant flaws in order to try and win your trust.

It may seem strange that affiliates would want to promote a free product. However, many so-called free online diets are really a means to get you in the door to see all of the benefits that could be obtained by joining the paid section.

When you do find a free diet that you like it is good to get advice from those who have actually been on the diet. This may be from testimonials, although these can be faked. Nevertheless, if they leave contact details you might be able to contact the person writing the testimonial to check it out.

Internet forums can also provide valuable insights into the diet, particularly forums which are not linked directly to the program. Signing up for relevant newsletters is another valuable source of information.

It is taking somewhat of a risk to trust a free online diet. You shouldn't rule out paid programs because sometimes the fees are very small and represent incredible value for money.

The important thing is to choose the one that is right for you after performing due diligence. If you select the right diet you can look forward to a better looking body, increased self-esteem and improved health and fitness.
