Working as an affiliate you link to an established website and sell the products of another person. When a product is sold using your special link you will earn yourself a commission or fee. All you have to do is market the website because everything else is handled by the website owner.

Therefore, being an affiliate offers a wonderful opportunity to start your own Internet business. Your business can be fully operational in a matter of minutes and in some cases it can cost you nothing to set up.

* Is there a powerful headline?

* Are you convinced by the message in the sales letter?

* Is there a money back guarantee? And finally,

* Do you really "know" the product? Let me explain.

You cannot truly judge a product by the salesletter; you should order it and see what it contains. Doing this is very powerful and if you tell your readers you have done this and you really do believe it will benefit your potential customers (not you) then you will have increased your chances of making the sale.

Do not promote weak products. Of course you might generate some income quickly, but you could lose out after a while because your subscribers may not fully trust you to give them the best information or advice in future.

Remember that you should be advancing your affiliate marketing as a ‘business’, not a hobby. Affiliate marketing is a brilliant business model with few start-up and running costs.

As your marketing knowledge increases you will be able to advance your business every day. To do this, you will need to learn about web page optimization, writing stimulating articles and increasing your list of subscribers. Looking after the people on your list is crucial and part of this is treating them with respect.

Further, if you develop your skills and knowledge about all aspects of online marketing and apply the techniques you learn, you will usually be quickly rewarded. And with increasing success you should focus on the creation of your own products whatever kind you elect to produce.

Selling your own products will bring you 100% of the selling price instead of only about 50% of the selling price as is the case with affiliate products. You will naturally always be offering affiliate products, but you would be doing this in addition to selling your own. By working with both you will increase your chances of generating a good income.

Planning your online business, whether selling your own products or affiliate products, is essential. All time devoted to this is well worth while and you should work on it daily. As you learn business and marketing systems be aware that you might not get things right at the beginning; this is something that you have to accept. However, starting your business is the key component to your success. By starting and learning more and more, you raise the distinct possibility that your online operation will flourish.
