By: Skype 1 I was searching through a Time magazine paragraph in the last few days and found that there is a thing called a skype phone that was raging across the web.You would be amazed what these two bright sparks who owned skipe did to make themselves a small fortune, they sold it to ebay.You are probably wondering what I am going on about.A lot of people call it voip.This idea of calling someone for nothing over the internet is not an original one.

Basically then you will be able to chat to whoever you like whenever you like wherever they are in the world and can even see them if you have skipe and a webcam.Saying that though it is notall plain sailing as a slow connection will be of no use to you.Video bandwidth does not justify clarity over a slow connection.

So I went on Ebay and yes you guessed it, they are peddling phones already due to skyp.We think skype has been in existence for a year to date and it is proving hugely popular.

Some of the commercial phone companies are already offering voip phone service..All the telecom experts are watching voip closely thinking that maybe it will crash and burn.Will it take on the web by storm, or is it just a passing fad.

You can be fairly sure that a lot of start ups will flood the market in the hope of making a killing but it has an established foothold. The government will undoubtedly see the plusses and want to add money to their coffers by using voip.At the moment skype makes its money by charging people who phone land lines from theircomputer using it.

The next big thing which voip are making a bold move towards is the notion of web conferencing. With 911 happenning in the not too distant past more people want to travel less and less so it is a great opportunity for voip to put video conferencing back on the map.

Audio and video are becoming possible for everyone nowadays-in this day and age especially with the massive success of youtube.Some people claim that audio and video will be no big deal but I disagree, I think it will be massive.

But one thing is for sure, it's not just hype they're muttering about, and only time will tell if the general public will catch on when they get their free skype download.We'll see in the next few years.
