Tattoo Shops Finding a good one

By: Steven McCarthy Tattoo shops are opening everywhere. The interest in body art has been rising steadily for the last twenty years. All shops are not equal, and you had better find out as much as you can before you put your skin on the line.

But there is a definite difference between just any shop and a truly great shop. This is defiantly one decision that you do not want to go with the lowest price available. It more than pays to be well informed and know the difference between the many types of shops.

The shop should be professional and still make you feel comfortable to hang around and chat. The better tattoo shops will have their own custom designs, and you will need to make an appointment ahead of time. The cost of an original tattoo can be expensive, but not blending into the crowd with the same tattoo as five other people in the room more than makes up for it.

By getting your ink done at one of the better places you'll get superior craftsmanship and more help if something is not to your satisfaction. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to fix an ugly amateurish looking tattoo by a so-called artist only to find out their talent is very limited to a handful of designs and not much skill.

Another great suggestion when looking for a good place to get your tattoos and piercing's is to do a online search to check if there have been any lawsuits filed against the tattoo shop or artist. When tattoo parlors start getting lazy their customers health is at risk and lawsuits begin. Not to long ago there was a lawsuit against a shop owner where a customer was infected with a flesh eating bacterium by the use of unsanitary supplies and practices.

poor sanitary conditions found in many tattoo shops are responsible for a common affliction called Hepatitis C. Used needles can carry this blood born pathogen. Believe it or not there have been estimations that commercial tattoo shops were responsible for more infections than intravenous drug users. The news gets worse as more people get tattoo's the infection rate is climbing.

A good piece of advice before having the tattoo machine start buzzing away is to go into the tattoo parlors and talk to the artists. A good artist always takes the time to answer any questions the prospective client might have. While at the tattoo parlors take a good look around. Are the premises clean and sanitary? Are the work areas posted with the artists' licenses? Are the needles used with the tattoo machine always new and disposed of properly in biohazard containers?

Even the best tattoo gun will not make a shop successful. Your artist needs to take into their consideration all safety and sanitary practices to ensure the customers satisfaction with their new tattoo without risking infection. It takes twenty happy customers to make up the damage caused by one customers bad word of mouth experience. So you can see why taking good care of their customers should be a tattoo shops main concern.
