Try Yoga and Get an Abundance of Natural Benefits

Yoga, when done regularly and under supervision from a qualified yoga instructor, will offer you with substantial results within a few short weeks of doing it. Results that some people have claimed are the curing and relief from arthritis, asthma, back pain and bronchitis, depression, eyestrain, headaches, indigestion and insomnia.

Not only that. By improving circulation throughout the body, the heart is reinforced and oxygenation is enhanced. Yoga therapy is being utilized by medical doctors to cure certain diseases of the nerves, as well as the heart and other muscles.

Over time, yoga can improve your flexibility which in turn rejuvenates the body. According to yoga principles, this is a more reliable indicator of your age than the number of birthdays you've had.

You will see that even your posture is improved through yoga, because it builds up the back, neck and shoulder muscles. It makes you pay more attention to your body and how it is aligned, thus making you more conscious of your posture, improving it even more. The result is you'll carry yourself with more confidence and will portray a more attractive demeanor.

Yoga shapes and tones your muscles. Many of the postures, or asanas, use your own weight as resistance; others enhance flexibility in your joints and increase your range of motion. The combined effect of these asanas is a well-toned body with increased stamina and lengthened endurance.

Yoga also fights obesity and can help you lose weight. During the poses, different organs and glands are stimulated which helps regulate their functions. You'll find your digestion is better, your metabolism increased and you'll enjoy a natural suppression of your appetite.

Believe it or not, yoga is a very good substitute for an aerobic workout! Your heart rate and breathing increases during a yoga session, which normally lasts for an hour. The side effect is an increase in oxygen intake and improved lung capacity.

But all of this really only touches the tip of the iceberg. Most of what I've listed here is focused on only the physical benefits of practicing yoga on a regular basis. Yoga's benefits go much, much further.

There are psychological benefits also because you perform meditation exercises. These exercises calm your mind and spirit, at the same time improve mental clarity and focus. You can concentrate better and sleep better. You are always in a positive mood and are able to maintain pleasant thoughts.

And it doesn't stop there! Your self-confidence is ramped up; you become much more self-aware you'll feel more vitality than ever before. Yoga has even been credited with improving sex lives.

This is just an introduction to the benefits of yoga. The list goes on and on. Yoga is the way to harmony of mind, body, and spirit. The word yoga means 'union', and this is what helps you achieve union is all aspects of your life. You will only experience the benefits of yoga if you try and see for yourself.
